Officers have received special training to help child in need of dealing with sexual and physical abuse as well as neglect. Officers work closely with the Child Protective Services, Oakland County court system, and Care House of Oakland County to help children who fall victims to crimes against them. Officers have received special training to speak with the children along with other experts to investigate allegations of abuse or neglect. Care House of Oakland County also provides services of counseling and therapy to victims of abuse and neglect.
Currently, the Milford Police Department's trained investigator is notified by the original investigating officer to assist in the investigation when sexual for physical abuse is suspected.
